Day 11 - 30 Paintings in January

CHANGE
(as in, the weather is changing)

Here is another quote from the man who wrote The Art Spirit
... keeping in mind he was writing in the early 1920's:

"It seems to me that the present day man,
with all his reverence for the old master,
is interested in seizing other qualities,
far more fleeting.
He must be cool and he must calculate,
but his work must be quick."

- Robert Henri

11:20 am Juneau         3 x 8 inches       oil on Arches Huile paper

So, I wanted to show you this.
It is the view from our window and where the set-up is
and you can see the weather is changing
(and is today back to our regular temperate rain forest SE Alaska weather).

- and you might be slightly interested in the way these last two were painted.
I just divided up the Arches paper horizontally.

Thanks for hanging in with me!

Happy painting all you 30 in 30 peeps.

OMG - Your VIEW!!!!
No wonder you can turn out these marvelous snow paintings.
Clever splitting the paper into two like that.

I went back a few paintings and like the way you place your value image next to the
colored version.

Beautiful, beautiful blues!! You made this one look effortless!
And Julie's right. Your view is jaw dropping!
Temperate rain forests - I've forgotten they extend way up the Pacific. Bad weather for hair, but good for the skin & great for painting!

Thanks, Chris. One can do amazing color things with this limited palette I'm using. Yep, when we moved from dry interior AK to SE, I literally felt my skin soak up the moisture!
