I think that will be my title ...
Titles are sometimes hard to "discover",
but I was thinking about how hot the rest of the country is
and even though the sun has been out here in SE AK
for a couple of days,
it is not as warm as "down south".

On Saturday (8/5/2017) Plein Rein,
our local plein air group, 8 or 9 of us this time,
traveled out to the
CAROLE BAKER of Gustavus, AK.

The cabin's windows look out onto Lynn Canal
and the Chilkat Mountains,
a gorgeous location for an artist's cabin!
We had a perfect morning of painting and then a delicious lunch.

This scene attracted me because of the dark forest shadow and the reflections in the tannin-colored water. |
I painted the rest of the painting with palette knife after this shot. |
Spawned out chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) right there next to where I was painting. Not a wonderful smell ... |
