Welcome! This blog began as an assignment in a digital art class. That was in 2008. I decided to keep it going as my art journal. It is fascinating for me to see how a painting develops, so this is where I post my painting progressions and exciting new things I find on creative blogs and websites. I hope you will learn along with me about painting, drawing and all kinds of art.

#6/6 Goose Lake View

There tis! I am finished with this series. Yahoo!
Thank you, Matt for the photos and for making the cradled birch supports!
We are a team!

It is coming along...not too far from the finish. I like the left arm!

Goose Lake

Here's a bit of a start!
That part of a triangle you see is a shadow! Hope I can make it look like one.

Goose Lake View

First crack at this composition.
Acrylic (rust color) over the white gesso...and the dark is oil paint.

#5/6 Tie - In at Dry Creek

I love to put my paintings in b & w to see if the values are working.
There seems to be a lot of gray in this one but I think there are enough other light/dark values
to make it work ok. This is finished. I like it.

Essentially finished! Maybe just a few more blobs of paint...
Any input?

Tie-In progress

Here is a bit more work done. There will be a hold now because we are traveling.
I will sketch, sketch sketch, though!
