Dear painters, art aficionados, and art explorers everywhere. I would never have guessed this journal would keep my interest for so long! Join me as I learn about the processes of painting, drawing and at times, the history of art.
Here is my finished Venus of Willendorf. I measured and it is 24 x 30", so quite a good size! Consider that the original sculpted figure is about 4.25" tall... Thanks to Jane (Terzis) I used a 2" brush and "got messy".
Oil on panel.

This is just fantastic! It has so much earthy energy. Also thanks for posting the info about her. I did do a google search as well. What kind of panels are you using for your oil work, Terri? Do you use Liquin as a fast drying medium at all?

LOVE it, Teri!! Great brush strokes and texture.
Excellent!
I like very much your brushstrokes and the colors...
Maggie, you are so kind. My panels are just masonite. Yes, I use a mix of Liquin and Walknut Oil alkyd with my oil paint.
K-thanks for looking, can't wait to show you it in person.
Mariela, thank you very much!
Is this me, from one of the times you've used me as a model?! Thanks for covering my head - I was having a bad hair day ;)
In all seriousness, you are AMAZING!!!
Love ya, Jules
