Summer is so nice, specially May, in Juneau.
This past Saturday, some of our plein air group went
to Eagle Beach.
I didn't want to go so far afield
so I just set up in our back yard
and made a little painting of
the volunteer Black Cherry tree that my son and I found
in our compost pile!
It is about 27-28 years old if I calculated correctly.
If you look closely just above the right corner of my easel
there is a calico cat sitting in the grass!

I should have been out painting this tree when it was loaded with white blossoms!
But there were a few left.
(there's the kitty again)

I knew it was important to get some contrast
in this small painting
or the tree just wouldn't show up!
I think it came out
fairly well.
Enjoy your summer and draw and/or paint
as much as you can!
Thank you for checking in!

Such a delicate touch for a delicate tree. Nice
Thank you Cristine! Can't wait till you guys are back and we can go paint!
Better a cat than a bear :) And your painting - Wow, Teri! Hope you're not running out of frames for these gems!
Oh, bears regularly stroll through that yard! But not while I was painting, thank goodness! They are more wary than we are!!
Well, my frame maker is at the ready!
