Welcome! This blog began as an assignment in a digital art class. That was in 2008. I decided to keep it going as my art journal. It is fascinating for me to see how a painting develops, so this is where I post my painting progressions and exciting new things I find on creative blogs and websites. I hope you will learn along with me about painting, drawing and all kinds of art.

Sinking history

The old Post Office in Wiseman, Alaska is a sinking piece of history. The townsfolk help to keep the old cabin decent by shaving off the doorway so it will not buckle. Not sure what they will do when it sinks down to the windows.

I am finally finished with this little painting and am pretty happy with it. Mostly palette knife work. It was so rainy the days we were in Wiseman last summer!
(see photo I post again below showing a wet set-up)

I bet this painting would look good with a frame around it hanging in the new Post Office in Wiseman! It's just beautiful! Love the green in the windows.
