Day 8 - 30 Paintings/30 Days

One week of daily painting in the bag!

This (challenge) is not a piece of cake ... and this quote really hits me today:

"It is not enough to have thought great things before doing the work.
The brush stroke at the moment of contact
carries inevitably the exact state of being of the artist
at that exact moment into the work,
and there it is,
to be seen and read by those who can read such signs,
and to be read later by the artist himself,
with perhaps some surprise,
as a revelation of himself."
- Robert Henri

I try not to "think great things" while (or before) painting,
because they never turn out as I imagined ...
I am always surprised!

And I think of THIS quite often.
 and I also think,

"Just do it." (thank you Nike)

Henri's quote - never thought about it - interesting. And that painting!! Wow!!! I think your painting says you took charge and just did it with a stunning result!

Chris, I know, one doesn't usually think of the fact of that brushstroke = your state of being! ... and not sure if you really should.
Thank you, you are so kind!
